Mass Effect 2_Aura'anna-Citadel_Wrongly_Accused
Mass Effect 2
Shepard comes to the aid of another Quarian, Lia'Vael, when she is accused of stealing or pickpocketing a credit Chit from a grumpy and self-righteous Volus.
It doesn't take paticularly long to ascertain the Volus left his chit at Saronis Applications, cutesy of of official Shepard fan, Marab.

Mass Effect 2_Aura'anna-Citadel_Anderson-Citadel_Council
Mass Effect 2
Commander Shepard pays a visit to the Citadel Presidium and attends a meeting with Councillor Anderson... and apparently also the rest of the Council too.
Her former Captain and friend is relieved to see her and welcomes her, as always still willing to help and protect her. At the end of the otherwise pointless meeting, Shep is reinstated with Spectre status - despite her ties to Cerberus - as a token of their appreciation at saving their lives during the Battle of the Citadel.
Regardless of what she says and what they have seen, they are still unwilling to accept the existence of the Reapers. They are also extremely displeased that she is working with Cerberus... and even vaguely threatens her with Treason - to which Anderson takes immediate offence.
Despite this, Shepard grits her teeth and magnanimously agrees to their terms and accepts the retention of her Spectre status. Unfortunately, her day just keeps getting worse when Udina turns up. Still Human Ambassador, Donnell Udina is now an advisor to the new Councillor, and Anderson is more than willing to use him as required... but he was supposed to be staying out this one.
With Udina sent away, Anderson and Shepard talk. Her old Captain tells her what happened to the Citadel, the galaxy... and also about Kaidan. But with her working for Cerberus, she is no longer authorised to have classified information divulged to.
Unable to learn more, Shepard leaves... with a promise to be careful.

Mass Effect 2_Ari'iaana-Citadel_Captain_Bailey_C-Sec
Mass Effect 2
Shepard must "resurrect" herself on the Citadel's systems and approaches Captain Bailey of C-Sec to do so.
In a conversation about him, he tells her about the Citadel, about what happened since she left. He also makes her aware about what it's like to police the Ward she is on - Zakera Ward.
Shep also finds a news screen with her old reporter acquaintance Emily Wong reporting on Freedom's Progress and the Hanar, then goes shopping and ends up with a couple of new pets (a Space Hamster and a few Illium Skald Fish) and model ships for her cabin.
When she finds an Avina to use, it tells her that she has been absent from the Citadel for 2 years, 3 months 17 days. A lot has clearly changed since then.

Shepard visits the Citadel to meet and recruit Master Thief Kasumi Goto.
It turns out it's not as straightforward as it should be, and that the thief also has some very strange ways of doing business...

Mass Effect 2
After a heavy fire-fight, Garrus takes direct fire before being hit face-on by a missile from the gunship.
Shepard wastes no time completely disabling the gunship, hitting it with her own missiles until it explodes. She finds Garrus somehow still alive and has him evacuated onto the Normandy and outside Omega space, where her friend can be safe.
It's a long and tense wait, but Garrus is Turian and bounces back quite well after Dr. Chakwas saves him and puts his face back together.
Then Garrus faces Shepard down and questions her about Cerberus. But this is Shepard, so he doesn't really question her integrity and trusts her implicitly.
Having been to check on Joker in the cockpit... and referring yet another argument with EDI... she goes to see Garrus at the Forward Battery. He tells her about his time after the first Normandy went down, his own squad, and what happened to them.
Then he tells them about their fate... not just that they were dead, but precisely why they were taken down... A betrayal. The hurt is clear, and revenge is clearly the only thing on his mind about it.

Making their way to speak to Sergeant Cathka, Shepard sees first-hand the deadly accuracy of Archangel - as dead fighters are hit dead-on and flung to the floor in front of her. She also comes across Jaroth, who runs Eclipse and finds quite an interesting datapad Aria would like to see.
Shepard hacks mechs, turning their IFF to their advantage, then also speaks to the Blood Pack leader, Garm. Just before she finds where Cathka is, they come across the Blue Suns and their leader Tarek.
Funnily enough, as the former founder of the Blue Suns, Zaeed and Tarak are old "colleagues" and know each other well... which allows Shep a way into extracting further information from his Second, Jentha.

Mass Effect 2_Aura'anna-Normandy_Jack-Into_Purgatory
Mass Effect 2
Shepard boards the Blue Suns Prison Ship Purgatory with a small ground team to retrieve Jack from them. When they arrive they are only greeted with hostility, but the Turian Warden Kuril allows them to board without animosity,
As they tour the ship they find out there is more to the ship than just being a prison. It's at least an extortion plot, given they blackmail homeworld governments to pay them to keep the prisoners on board (disguising it as "maintenance payment").
Immediately, Shepard and her ground crew are suspicious, but continue with the tour and pleasantries to ensure they retrieved this "Jack".

Mass Effect 2_Aura'anna-Omega_PlagueZone_Suvivors
Mass Effect 2
Inside the Quarantine Zone, the place is clearly a mess... or more of one that it probably used to be. The situation is dire... Shepard gets the feeling it is perhaps more imperative than she thought to cure this thing.
In a corner of an alleyway is a dying Batarian... Shep can't help but go up to him to see if she can help, as well as get some more information.
After giving the Batarian some Medi-Gel and some hope, Shep leaves to go searching further in. After bypassing a door, she finds Turian victims locked inside, all dead from the Plague, and four heartbreaking entries into their deaths. A little further more and she discovers the body of a Batarian who was locked in his apartment by the Blue Suns... then died alone in there.
The situation was clearly much worse than she thought.
However, some light comes in the form of two human survivors - refugees - who had locked themselves in their apartment to keep themselves safe from the panicking and violent chaos that was occurring outside. Shep picks the lock of their apartment with a bypass hack, and is relieved to see people who are still alive.
The human refugees are relieved to see another human face - a soldier - who they can trust. Shep speaks to them about what is going on, then manages to talk them into going to Mordin Solus' clinic for refuge. That if they followed her at a distance, they would have a clear and safe path there, after Shepard had seen to whoever stood in her way.

Mass Effect 2_Aura'anna-Normandy_Meeting_The_Crew
Mass Effect 2
Shepard familiarises herself with the Normandy and her crew... and takes advantage of being the captain of a non-Alliance ship and its dress code.
Joker is more interesting when he thinks Shepard isn't looking and he's alone in the cockpit... and he's very happy about having "his" Normandy back. Except for EDI. But perish the breathable leather seats makes up for that...
Shepard plays Twenty Questions with EDI, who divulges everything she has access to. How she's getting along with Joker is a question she seems a little confused over... As an AI, she clearly has yet to learn a lot about human interactions.
Shepard gets more joy... much more joy... out of Kelly Chambers. She's a cute and sweet redhead who clearly has a slight case of hero-worship when it comes to Shepard. With Kaidan goodness-knows-where... well, Kelly immediately grabs her interest, at least when it comes to harmless flirting.
She also speaks to Mess Sergeant Gardner, Miranda, and Jacob.

Mass Effect 2
Shepard and her team push forward to attempt to save Tali's team from Vitor's reprogrammed Heavy Mech... but they don't make it in time. Shepard's team struggles to stay out of its range... but they eventually manage to take it down.
The team get to Vitor whilst Tali attends to the surviving Quarians. What they see when they get to him is beyond distrubing... Creatures called The Collectors seem to be... harvesting the colonists; injecting them via swarms of mech bugs and then taking them all away.
They take the data from Vitor and return to the Illusive Man, whilst Tali takes Vitor and the Quarians back to the Flotilla. The Illusive man confirms the Collectors are working with the Reapers, and that he's asking Shepard to stop whatever it is they're doing.
He offers her the dossiers for a new team. Her old team has moved on in the time she has been "dead"... and the Illusive man has clearly looked into all of them, since he knows precisely where they are and what they are doing.
But what she does get is the one person that she needs the most... and the ship that she loved.
Taking the helm once more, she boards the SR2 with amazement. However, her joy is soon outlived when an AI pops up. But EDI tries to be nice and understanding to her, which takes her a little by surprise.
And now it's time to make the Normandy's re-acquaintance.

[I'm going with "she's disorientated here"... but the fact of the matter is that if you change the key binding for "Use" from Spacebar, it messes everything up... which is annoying, having spent all of ME1 using it for Command HUD... Moral of the story: Do *not* change key binding for "Use"...]
