Mass Effect 2:
Archangel (8) - Saving Garrus Vakarian

Having been hit by a rocket missile from the gunship, Garrus was left bleeding on the floor. Shepard and her team take down the gunship responsible and evacuate him back to the Normandy to be saved. Gravely concerned, she then waits with Jacob to see what becomes of him.

To her great surprise, relief, and pleasure, she finds Garrus seems recovered and well after Dr Chakwas' surgery. She finds him later in the gun battery, tinkering with it as a distraction, just the way he used to with the Mako. He seems to be settling in and willing to talk.

Garrus then tells her about his time on Omega and answers her questions about his vigilante work and his team. It turns out he was inspired by what she did to face Saren, and emulated her work and her techniques in getting a squad together to go up against the criminals of Omega.

It is quite clear to Shep how much the Tourian had changed in the past two years and she is taken and impressed by him, warming to him much more than she did when she was on the last Normandy.

He also then shares that one of those turned traitor, who ended up getting the rest of the team killed in an attack that Garrus was the only survivor of. The traitor disappeared and Garrus has been hunting him since.

Archangel (4) - Old Friends

Tired, drained, exhausted... coming to the end of his energy levels... an old friend and very familiar face looks back at her when the helmet is taken off.

Shepard may have never been so amazed to see someone as she was to see the impressive Garrus Vakarian behind the visor and sniper rifle... he's come a very long way since his time as a simple C-Sec officer two years ago. Now a highly experienced fighter and sniper, the C-Sec chains have long gone and they have left a self-confident and highly unorthodox solider, a mercenary commander, and strong leader.

Now a dangerous and driven maverick vigilante, Garrus and Shepard suddenly have for more in common than they used to have, and her old friend now immediately attracts her attention and enjoyment as she works alongside him again, taking down the mercs and gang members as they make their way over "suicide bridge", building on their newfound bond now based in the same mindset and equality.
