Shepard, Kaidan and Ashley push past the Geth and finally find the beacon... but when Kaidan gets too close, Shepard sees Kaiden being enveloped in a strange light emanating from it, she pushes him away and gets caught up in it herself. Then she collapses to the floor, unresponsive.

Meanwhile, the turian Specre that killed Nihlus, Saren Artarius, is shown in this giant mother ship with an Asari matriarch, demanding that Shapard "must be eliminated".

Fifteen hours after being hit by the beacon, Commander Shepard wakes up from her coma. She's been overseen by Dr Chakwas, the Alliance's infamous physician, as well as Kaidan. She tells them both about the "dreams" that she had.

Captain Anderson then comes to speak to her, who updates her on the status of everything she asks after. He also admits the situation their in reflects badly on the mission, and delivers the bad news that the "Saren" she heard about was a Spectre, meaning the Council was probably going to be on his side.
