Landing on Omegas, Shepard is  met by an enthusiastic and welcoming Salarian, who is then interrupted by a rather grumpy Batarian. Apparently he has a message from Aria - the infamous and galaxy-renowned "Pirate Queen of Omega": Shepard is to go and meet with her ASAP.

Not about to be told what to to do  by a Batarian quoting such a notorious name at her, Shepard shows she is not to bow to the "Pirate Queen" and tells him she's go when she's ready... and although the Batarian is unhappy with this reaction, he does not  push it any further.

Just heading into Omega, she runs into Zaeed Massani, who has  been recruited by the Illusive Man to join the Normandy team. Naturally, there is a quid quo pro for this, which is apparently to help him with his own little mess to fix.
