Having given one last look to Kaidan's picture on her desk, Shepard sets herself up for the next mission at the armoury dashboard in her cabin - then she heads for Omega.

Omega's reputation precedes it, and it is every bit as dangerous and garish as it promises to be. The Commander is even accosted at the port by a rather demanding Batarian, and finds her quarry Zaeed Massani assaulting a Salarian on the floor of the dock.

That being said, she still hires him, and apparently manages to get herself tangled into whatever pet mission the merc had the Illusive Man to agree to in exchange for joining the Normandy.
