Mordin and Shepard talk again about his STG work... and it turns out that the STG scientists infiltrated Tuchanka to study them and the Genophage after quite some time had past.

They found the Krogan had beaten the Genophage by simple evolution - but this had to be countered to avoid a second Krogan rebellion. Their only solution was a modified Genophage that would "re-think" how the "treatment" worked on a cellular level.

Shepard is quietly outraged about the extra work done to continue the Genophage. She remembered how hurt and devastated Wrex was on Virmire. How she had to talk him out of killing her and releasing Saren's modified Krogan into the populous. She remembered their talks in the bowels of the first Normandy, how it had devastated the Krogans ever since it had been inflicted upon them. How it had lead him to kill his own father. Made him - and countless others - mercenaries for hire.

The Genophage and its modification had lead to the ruination of a once-proud and strong race.... all now devastated and left for nothing but mindless killers and bodyguards. The only species to have a statue on the Citadel's Presidium, and that was all that was left of them.

No, she could not be happy that the Salarian before her had helped perpetuate that pain and suffering the Genophage had caused. Yet here he was to help with the Collectors.

She wasn't sure what to do with that... or what Wrex would think if he ever found out.
