The ragag band of Varric, Solas, Cassandra, and she meet up with Leliana, where they're arguing about what to do next... to the point where they actually ask her what they should do...

... Maker, they must have been desperate....?! 

So she decides ... head straight into battle. Better die in battle than be beheaded in Val Royeaux as a mass murderer...
