Shepard heads the Normandy towards a planet imaginatively named 2175 Aeia, in the Alpha Draconis, Rosetta Nebula. This is where the beacon from Jacob's father's downed ship is pinging from, and they end up landing right next to the wreckage of the ship.
The beacon is still going off, and when Shepard questions the VI, they find out disturbing information... then they press on to find out just what happened to the survivors of the Hugo Gurnsback.
