The Collectors have made away with half the colony of Horizon and the best they could do was scare them away... Shepard feels like she has failed - and reaction of the one lone survivor of the colony - not in stasis or kidnapped - confirms her own opinion.

As she stands there, listening to the mechanic complain, a familiar face and familiar voice appear. A ghost from her past, who thinks her as much of a ghost himself. It is only she who has been resurrected from the dead, but she feared she would never see him again.

Instead of a picture on her desk, Kaidan Alenko is real and here... Safe and well, and indeed on Horizon. He hugs her... then looks at her with regret. She didn't contact him. Her survival was only a rumour to him until this very moment.

He is clearly confused and upset, hurt that the best she could do was greet him so casually, so formally. But she doesn't know what to say... What could she say? Her heart hurts, but she must also keep it in, and herself focused. She can't even reach out to him because he is upset with her for not letting him know she really was alive.

Her only way to reach out is to try and explain, ask him to join... but he shoots her down, betrayed by her in so many ways, still in shock to see her really there before him. So when he turns his back to her and leaves, she angrily contacts Joker to come and retrieve them... She's had more than enough of that place.
