Mass Effect 3
Ashley's suspicions grow about Shepard's true allegiance to the Alliance. James confirms she would have had no opportunity to contact Cerberus, even if she had wanted to, proving her loyalty.
Shepard in the end confronts her, in the end simply telling her that she shouldn't have to explain herself to Ash. The underlying tone and look was simply "you know me"... and then Shep asked Ash to trust her. Ashley gets it - a little - and moves on. At least for now.
They enter the archives, immediately assaulted by an almighty racket coming from the air vent ducts. As they grow louder, a familiar blue figure bursts out and takes down two Cerberus troopers with a singularity and a handful of lethal bullet holes.
Liara T'Soni was a sight of relief for sore eyes. She's surprised and amazed to see Shepard... and then also Ashley. She doesn't understand at first why they're even there - but when Shep tells her Hackett sent them, she realises what they're after. She describes their findings there - specifically, a blueprint for a Reaper-destroying device. Prothean-designed, it clearly wasn't deployed by them because they ran out of time, thus the blueprints remained untouched in the archives for the next 50,000 year cycle to build it.
Unfortunately, Cerberus soon appears again... and James gets sidelined to drive the shuttle as their means of escape. Shepard, Ash and Liara take on the few more Cerberus troops that turn up, and they go down easily enough.
Now they had to find their way out of where they were and head for the actual Prothean archive itself.
