Mass Effect 3
Shepard, James and Garrus head out to deal with some rather horrific Reaper creatures... transformed Turians. There are also everyone's favourites - the Husks... so the game is now on.
It doesn't take too long to get rid of them all. Shepard returns to the compoud, but only be to be told as she's headed in that the main barricade has been attacked and about to be breached.
Shep heads up there to find the Turian soldiers who had been standing guard fallen in the battle - so she scrambles to the top and takes charge of the cool big gun and starts hacking up the Husks with the turret. James clearly enjoys himself fighting the husks from the taller vantage point - but Garrus isn't too enthusiastic. He never did like those pesky Husks very much.
Everything is going fairly well, relatively speaking... until the most enormously horrific thing, created by the worst of the Reapers' imagination, turns up - and knocks her off the barricade onto the other side.
James and Garrus go down after her and work to keep them all safe - and the Reapers away. Shep tasks herself with mainly trying to stay away from the Husks, but also trying to focus the most of their combined power on the Brute.
Once the Brute is down, General Corinthus is back on the line, letting her know that they still could not raise the new Primarch, Adrien Victus, on the comms. A (now former) Turian General, he is out fighting in the middle of the battles on Menae, and not all the channels are stable in the middle of all the fighting.
They go on foot, touring Menae, watching battles, Reapers slaughtering, Turian ships and soldiers going down to them. They find survivors and crash wreckage. They look over to Palaven... and Garrus can only see the area he was born an enormous burning a blaze of bright orange. He has a father and sister there... somewhere. But he has to be up in Menae fighting the big fights against forces that seem to be unstoppable.
