In her cabin, Commander Shepard prepares for the next mission out.

She makes sure her fish are fed, and Space Hamster Alenko is checked up on. She takes a glance through her ever-expanding email inbox, checks her armour, then heads down to the bridge to plot the Normandy's course to Tuchanka.

The home-world of the Krogan, the planet that is barely more than ruins, and where her old friend Urdnot Wrex now lives... and rules. The Clan Leader of Clan Urdnot, Wrex is attempting the impossible, and she's so very happy and proud of him, and very impressed he's actually managed it.

She's quite surprised by just how well Wrex's plan has gone - how after defeating Saren he used his position and notoriety for the good of his people. She remembers the stories he told her, remembers the talks they had... and how once she had asked him why he didn't say and help them rebuild the Krogan, instead of following the rest into mindless mercenary work. It seemed that idea had rubbed off on him, given what he was doing now.

She's gone to speak to him about Grunt... about whatever is "wrong" with him. Grunt doesn't need it, and she certainly doesn't need a head-shaped hole in her fuselage...

After being saved from having to stand upon ceremony by him noticing her, she catches up with Wrex, both delighted to see each other. Despite - even because of - what happened on Virmire, Wrex clearly now has immense respect and pride in Shepard, and is willing to do everything he can for her... even if that includes allowing a Tank-Bred Krogan into his clan for her.

He knows what's wrong with Grunt... and he's willing to "fix" it by allowing the baby to earn his maturity and join Urdnot if he passes the test. The old and wise Krogan Clan Leader that he is now, Wrex sees what Grunt is - a powerful and capable Krogan who would make a good edition to the Clan. Plus, Shepard brought him, so he must be good...
